Craig Cothill brings to Alsuwaidi & Company his experience in contentious and non-contentious matters. He started his career as a disputes lawyer gaining experience in real estate, construction, interpretation of contracts, banking, and insurance disputes. Craig is also an arbitrator in sports law disputes relating to doping violations and has chaired many tribunals in disciplinary matters brought against chartered accountants. He has represented professional sportsmen in disciplinary complaints. He has represented a wide variety of corporate clients in arbitrations and is often advising on enforcing arbitral awards. Craig has advised on strategies in arbitrations before the ICC.
He has gained non contentious international experience by consulting for an international engineering company with corporate and commercial interests in multiple jurisdictions including Australia, Canada, and Germany. To enhance his career as an international lawyer, Craig has joined Alsuwaidi & Company at its Abu Dhabi office where he is working with clients in disputes within the ADGM and Civil Courts. He is also advising an Islamic bank on claims it has in the DIFC.

He also handled contract negotiation and drafted commercial agreements, guidelines, internal policies, and company’s procedures for several clientele
Mamdouh has sound corporate experience in governance and regulatory manners in his previous roles and further served for three years as Chairman of the Control and Investigation committee in one of the holding companies in the Gulf and was selected as a member of a number of select committees such as the Employee Affairs Committee, and the Listing Committee.

After working for a law firm in Abu Dhabi, Nidal joined the banking sector in the UAE in 1999 as in-house lawyer and held senior positions in two prominent Abu Dhabi based banks as well as Abu Dhabi based investment company.
Nidal is specialised in Islamic banking and finance and has over two decades of solid experience in Sharia’ compliant products and transactions and witnessed the progress and development of Islamic banking in the UAE as in-house counsel. He worked closely with highly recognized Sharia’ scholars, Sharia’ boards and banking experts on the development of a wide range of products that were introduced to the Islamic banking market in the UAE for the first time. He advised on a diverse range of Sharia’ compliant products and transactions utilizing a blend of knowledge and practical experience. Ibrahim is fluent in Arabic and English, and has intermediate competency in French and basic Greek.
Prior to joining Alsuwaidi & Company, Ibrahim was a legal consultant for a leading commercial bank. He represented the banks before courts and government, and negotiated and drafted legal documents and contracts. He oversaw the insolvency cases of the bank’s clients, and assisted bank managers in compliance and custody matters. He further supervised external bank lawyers and administered legal training workshops as a certified legal trainer.

Vida attended the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, USA where she obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) and was awarded the Dean’s Merit Scholarship. She further obtained Bachelor of Laws from the San Beda College (College of Law), in Manilla and was admitted to the Philippine Bar, and was placed in top 5% of newly admitted lawyers.
Vida holds an undergraduate degree, BSc in Business Management, Graduated with Honors from De La Salle University, Manilla Philippines and attended the Simon Fraser Univeristy in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on a student exchange program.
Vida is fluent in both English, and Tagalog.

Mohammed’s insurance experience relates to litigation arising out of property all risks, such as physical loss and damages to the property due to fire, or natural disasters; contractor’s all risks; transport related insurance such as land cargo, air cargo, marine cargo, car insurance, and marine hull insurance; construction related, such as the insurance of workmen’s compensation against work injuries, banker’s blanket bond insurance, public liability’s insurance, life insurance and all claims arising from transactions between insurance entities.

He has conducted several arbitrations in the region and is a recognized maritime, insurance and intellectual property lawyer. Reda leads the Litigation team in commercial, construction, employment, medical negligence and real estate.
Reda’s has a strong understanding of Sharia Law and court which he applies strategically to dispute matters, legal consultation, and any client matter to generate a positive outcome. Further to this, he boasts an exceptional track record.
Reda has held a number of prominent positions as legal advisor to government and quasi government entities. This included being involved in the legal committee that drafted federal housing laws in the UAE. Reda is well known in the UAE market and is often called upon by a number of regional publications for legal opinions and known how.

Suneer leads the corporate and commercial team. He is active across sectors, including, government and quasi government, real estate, technology, and oil and gas.
He advises national and international organisations on licensing, agency, distributorship and franchise. Suneer has incorporated over 250 different entities in free zones, onshore and offshore for individuals, multinational corporations and juridical persons.
Suneer is involved in the restructuring of companies in various jurisdictions and has significant transactional experience. He is often instructed to assist in the liquidation of companies in UAE and recently, was involved in advising UAE liquidators and global liquidators of an International Bank with branches in the UAE, which is in liquidation.
He is legal advisor to several prominent and leading family conglomerates with diversified business activities in UAE and beyond. Suneer supports national and multinational companies on UAE employment laws, and advises on regulatory frame works and HR Policies.
Suneer maintains an active presence in UAE law. He is a visiting professor at the University of Dubai, lecturing on UAE labor law and has conducted various seminars for UAE employment law.
